Kilmeena GAA Golf Society

On the 8th of April 2010 the inaugural weekly fundraising golf scramble competition took place at Clew bay Golf course for Kilmeena GAA club. Between  April and December over 50 golfers braved all weather conditions to raise much needed funds for the club while enjoying the outstanding scenery and magnificent panoramic views of Clew Bay, its islands and Croagh Patrick. Lightweight banter was evident each week as often the novice outplayed the  professionals!!!

Our sincere thanks to Joe Gibbons who made this event possible by generously offering his golf course free for this weekly event. Great praise is due for the manner in which the course is maintained. See www.clewbaygolf.com for course details.

Thanks also to our competition sponsor “Mid West furniture” for their continuous support and finally a big thank you to all our golfers for making this event such a success.

We hope to recommence this event in February 2011. If you are interested in participating or would like to learn more about the event please contact Ollie Mulchrone or any club officer in Kilmeena GAA club.

This competition will recommence on Sunday the 13th of February 2011. Tee times between 8.30am and 9am. If you are interested in participating or would like to learn more about the event please contact Ollie Mulchrone or any club officer of the Kilmeena GAA club. We encourage all members of the club to join this most enjoyable social outing. You can expect to have  the round of golf completed in or around 2 hours. You don't have to be a "golfer" to join the society. All ablebodied men and women are welcome.
