Kilmeena hosted Kiltimagh in this 4th round game.
Kiltimagh registered the game’s first score, with a point from open play. That however was to be their last score until they were awarded a penalty (which was converted) in the first minute of first half injury time. Between Kiltimagh’s two scores, Kilmeena posted 6 – 2, with goals from Jason McGlynn (2), Kian Moore, Cillian O’Grady, Sean Prenty and Chris McNally, giving the hosts a commanding lead on a scoreline of 6 - 2 to 1 – 1 at the small whistle.
Not to be outdone by the ‘forwards’, the Kilmeena ‘backs’ - assisted by the mid-field pairing of Mikey Hastings and Ronan O’Donnell (who were outstanding) - had a very solid first half; conceding only one point from open play.
Kilmeena continued in the same vein for the second half. Further goals from Chris McNally and Kian Moore together with some excellent points from Ian Murphy, ensured the contest would end in Kilmeena’s favour.
Following last week’s disappointing defeat to Moy Davitts, Kilmeena got the victory that they fought for today.
Well Done Lads……
