Kilmeena V Burrishoole – Monday 6th July 2015.

Kilmeena, travelled to Burrishoole for what would be the third meeting of the two sides in as many months, with Burrishoole having come out on top on the previous two meetings. So, Kilmeena had a point to prove!!

And prove it they did. Kilmeena dominated the first quarter scoring 1 - 4 to a single point for Burrishoole; Chris McGlynn being the goal scorer in that first period.

Kilmeena’s dominance continued in the second quarter. With Ben Lennon putting in a great performance at wing forward, Kilmeena posted another 4 points. At the other end, the Kilmeena half-backs and back line were putting in a solid performance; which limited Burrishoole to one point in this period.

It was all square in the third quarter; each side posting 1 – 1. Ciaran Kilcoyne got the goal for Kilmeena.

Kilmeena led by 9 points going into the final quarter. And with legs tiring and both sidesdefending resolutely, the scoring rates dropped. Burrishoole managed 2 points in this period to Kilmeena’s one (point).

Final Score:   Kilmeena; 2 - 10,   Burrishoole; 1 - 5

All in all, a good result for the Kilmeena lads; borne out of hard work from start to finish, combined with clever play. Well done to all.
