The unusual summer conditions provided the perfect backdrop for the Club's annual charity fundraiser held today in Kilmeena. Because of insurance restrictions imposed on GAA clubs by Croke Park for this time of year, this year's fundraiser was limited to a run/walk for those taking part.
The event started from the clubhouse and continued via sunny Roscahill, across the scenic Bailegorm hills, culminating in the Community centre, where copious amounts of mulled wine and other refreshments awaited the participants. Many thanks to the ladies who took the time to prepare and provide us with the culinary delights we gratefully accepted. Also on display was the exhibition from the 125th celebrations held earlier this year, depicting the Club's sporting endeavours throughout its history.
The event provided an opportunity to meet with and welcome old friends from afar, returning to spend time with family and friends for the festive season. A special welcome to former club stalwarts, James Ryan and Danny Duffy, both of whom now ply their footballing skills with clubs in the far off lands of Austraila. Also, a céad míle fáilte to John and Niamh Moore, who graced us with their presence on the occasion. John was a footballer of some note for the club in the very recent past. John and Niamh now reside in Dublin. All are looking as fit and youthful as ever.

AND:

believe it or not, Declan Moore aged 8 years, finishing 4th overall in the run. Well done Declan.

Enjoying the scenic delights of Roscahill.
