The Kilmeena U12 Girls travelled to the Neale GAA Club grounds on Saturday morning to play in the Mayo LFA Division 2A Blitz. The Captain for this competition was Laura Kelly. The score line speaks for itself, getting goals at crucial times during the early quarters paid hugh dividends to the Kilmeena Girls as their confidence grew as the games progressed. Overall this was a consistent display with notable performances by Emma Murray, Ashling Hoban, between them taking some brilliant scores. Further out the field there were also brilliant support play by Ciara Joyce, Megan Mullchrone, Áine Regan & the backs who held their nerve under intense pressure at times, remained composed with  Sinead Mullchrone, Holly Barrett, Aoife Gibbons all doing well and  Laura Kelly who played a captains role with close marking and good ball distribution. One can only be proud of each and every one of them as they executed the game plan. This is the first trophy this group has won at this level and also a first for the Club. We would encourage all club members to get behind and support this group of players as they progress through the different age groups.

Well done to Castlebar Mitchels and Charlestown for their participation, Mayo Ladies LFA, referee’s and the host Club for their hospitality on the day.

Presentation of medals will take place on a date yet to be confirmed

Thank you to all the parents who car pooled and supported the players throughout the year, and also the management for the work they have done during the season.
