Former Kilmeena Club footballer, Danny Ryan, now teaching in London, will line out with London’s squad tomorrow in Ruislip. Danny has played all his matches with London at centre half back during this year’s National League campaign. He was also part of the 2011 and 2013 teams that faced Mayo.
Danny donned the black and white for Kilmeena at all underage levels. He displayed a tremendous pace, tenacity and strength which developed through a natural progression throughout the years with the Club. He was also a member of the team that won County and Provincial titles in 2003. He played College football with Rice College and Mayo Minor League football.
History in the Ryan family will be rewritten tomorrow because Danny’s Dad, Jimmy and his cousin Vincent Ryan Snr. also played on the London teams during the 1970’s.
Should be an interesting day in all Ryan households ! Will divided loyalties be an issue or will the cheers echo for the Red and Green?
Best Wishes are extended to Danny and to former Burrishoole midfielder, James Moran who will also tog out for London tomorrow.
