The first ever 5K family fun run took place in Kilmeena on Thursday 20th October- with over 200 participants taking to the roads of Kilmeena to complete a 5k loop as part of a fundraising campaign for St Brendan’s National School.
The beautiful weather added to the atmosphere of the evening- with crowds of almost 300 gathered to cheer on, race or prepare for the event. There was a real sense of community in the tight knit parish on the evening with people of all ages enjoying the company of friends and neighbours and the beautiful spread laid on by the Parents Association. Hobans centra sponsored some very generous prizes for a range of categories. There were some very worthy winners in all catagories but no one left disappointed as everyone was a winner on the evening. The staff of Saint Brendans N.S would like to thank everyone for their continued support and they are already looking forward to our next community event.
