Kilmeena edge past Ballagh in a hard fought Junior Championship encounter played in St Brendan's Park Kilmeena this evening

 Kilmeena      2  -  12          2  –  8      Ballaghaderreen

This win not only keeps Kilmeena in with a great chance in Group 3 but also marked another progression in the team’s development.  They played great, cohesive football and showed great poise when Ballaghaderreen threatened a comeback in the second half.

As stated previously, the hard work this team puts in during training is definitely paying off. Every game show’s this team is improving.  Their fitness levels and work rate give them a chance against any team.

They started well against Ballaghaderreen and, but for a squally breeze which made shooting difficult in the first half, would have been further ahead at the break.  Immediately after half time, Ballaghaderreen scored a goal which brought them back to within three points of Kilmeena.  But this team didn’t panic, the defence held strong and the forwards took their opportunities.  The team continued to work hard and finished strongly to close out winners on a score of 2-12 to 2-08.
