Under 16 League, Kilmeena V's Tourmakeady

Kilmeena Under- 16’s had a great win in their first game of the league for 2013, against Tourmakeady. It was an early kick off at 5.30pm in a cold but fine evening in Tourmakeady. Both teams got out of the traps early and both attacks were on top which lead to open and exciting football. Kilmeena, with the aid of the wind, led at half time 1-10 to 1-06. It looked as if the Kilmeena lads were really up against it in the second half as the wind was gathering pace. But the troopers from the shores of Clew Bay were not to be denied and hit a string of goals to kill off the game early in the second half.

The final score was Kilmeena 8-15, Tourmakeady 2-11. It was a fine performance from both teams and served up a great spectacle for all who attended.

Kilmeena Under 16’s next game is against Westport B in St Brendan's Sports Park. Please come and support the lads, they deserve it!!!!!
