Under 16 Blog

Kilmeena Under 16's are now top of the league following a comprehensive victory over their main Challengers Erris St Pats. They have now won all their league games and are in a very strong position to capture the league title.
Kilmeena struggled in the first half to find their usual rhythm and led by 5 points at half time after having the assistance of a strong wind. After regrouping at half time, Kilmeena settled well and showed the skill that is in abundance in this team. We are delighted to welcome Aidan Walsh back to the squad. Kilmeena have no game next Tuesday and will play Westport in the next round. This date has yet to be confirmed. Well done lads. We hope we will have an exciting Summer ahead with the championship.

Kilmeena under 16 team had a comprehensive victory over Lahardane this evening in the under 16 league. This is  a third straight victory in the league for the team and they have performed superbly so far this year. Aidan Walsh is still out of action but hopefully will return in the coming weeks. The lads have worked extremely hard this year and have been a credit to the club. Next Tuesday is a major test as we are home to Erris. We appeal to all our supporters to turn up to the game next Tuesday evening at 7pm in Kilmeena to support the team.
The management are very impressed with the commitment and attitude of the group.
We hope that the team will continue with the same attitude and commitment over the coming months,
Well done lads

A (agonising) narrow defeat for the Kilmeena Under 16's in the county final against Aghamore in McHale Park this evening, they lost out by one point;

Hard luck on this game but well done to the players and management for all their efforts, not just in this game but all season.

 Kilmeena V Aghamore U16 County Final

Kilmeena Under-16’s had their first outing of the season, at home to Louisburgh on Saturday morning, 2 March 2013. The team performed very well in a tight, low scoring game. The sides went in level at half time, Kilmeena then went on to dominate the second half and pulled away to record a 2-3 to 0-6 win. This team will welcome Hollymount/Carramore to St. Brendan’s Sports Park on the 16th of March @12pm. Come out and support our boys.

Well done lads.
