Kilmeena put up a spirited fight against a talented Kilmoremoy team in the U14 Girls League Division 3 Semi-Final. Both sides played some very entertaining football on a glorious summers evening in Adrnaree. We wish Kilmoremoy all the best in the final. This was great preparation for the championship starting in July. Keep up the good work girls.

The Kilmeena U-12 girls played their first group 4 league game in St. Brendan’s Sports Park Kilmeena on Friday evening the 16th May against an established Claremorris side. This 13 a side match was a tightly contested sporting affair throughout with Clarremorris emerging the winners on a score line of 7-01 to 4-03. The Kilmeena panel of 22 players all participated at various stages during the game. Shannon Bourke captained the team for the evening and each and every girl contributed to the gallant effort including our newest member Aibhlin O Flynn. There were some good displays of great teamwork and solid performance setting the foundations for our next match on June 8th away to Carnacon.

Kilmeena travelled to Westport this evening for round 3 of the league.
Kilmeena struggled in the first half against a very strong and more experienced Westport side.
Even though our girls showed great determination in the second half they just couldn't get the scores on the board. Hard luck girls!

The U14 Kilmeena girls had their second outing in the league campaign on Wednesday evening 23rd. The game was away to Kilmoremoy and was played at the Ardnaree pitch in Ballina.
The first half saw a good performance from both teams with Kilmeena just edging it at half time. After the break Kilmoremoy went ahead with a serious of quick scores. The Kilmeena girls, led by captain Lilly Brady, continued to play good football and stayed in touch with some excellent scores of their own. However, Kilmoremoy with a strong defense, managed to keep Kilmeena from adding to the scoreboard and the game finished out with Kilmoremoy winning on a score line of 6-4 to 4-4. All in all, it was a fine performance from the girls.
The next game is next Wednesday 30th April away to Westport. It would be great to see plenty of support for the girls so come out and cheer them on.

The Kilmeena girls got their 2014 season underway this evening when they played their first game in the U14 league. The game was played at home and ended in a good win over Swinford/Kilasser. Captained by Lilly Brady and aided by a strong breeze the team competed with determination in the first half and went into the break with a good lead.
When the game resumed Kilmeena were on the back foot with Swinford/Kilasser playing some good football, notching up some fine scores of their own, to get back in contention.
However with great defending and a few positional changes the Kilmeena girls began to get on top again and closed out the game to win on a score line of  9  -  5 to 5  -  6 points.
All the girls are to be congratulated on their great performance with special mention to the two younger girls Ciara Joyce and Laura Kelly who put in a wonderful effort when introduced.
The next game for the U14 girls is on Wednesday 23rd April away to Kilmoremoy.
Please come along and support the girls.
