Kilmeena U10s girls played Burrishole in a friendly match on Wednesday, June 24th in Kilmeena.

Our young ladies put on a great display of football, especially in the third quarter which they managed to maintain till the very end.

The game was keenly contested with some great scores taken by both teams.

The sunshine added hugely to this event and a good evening's football was had by all!

The under 10 girls will travel to Parke on Saturday, July 11 to take part in an under 10 blitz.

Kilmeena  u12 Girls   7 – 05   Moy Davitts u12 Girls    9 - 02

The Kilmeena U12 Girls travelled to Foxford to play against Moy Davitts last eveningMonday the 22nd of June, as with the game the previous week the girls needed a positive start and they did not fail to disappoint.

The Captain for this game was Ciara Joyce, who was celebrating her birthdayKilmeena took the game to the home team and started by creating and taking well earned scores. But as expected from this outing the home team were going to mount a challenge and close the gap, despite this the Kilmeena girls held their nerve and stuck to their task with good distribution of the ball and effective tackling.

As it’s often said ‘’Goals win matches’’ and in the fourth quarter the home side scored a wellexecuted goal which turned out to be the winning of the game. Overall you would have to admire our girls work rate throughout the game, and the spectators present enjoyed a display of good open football.

This Kilmeena team are making progress ever time they take to the field.

Well done to all the Players, Management & Parents, who car pooled.

Match Report - U12 Girls

Kilmeena u12 Girls 4 –05 Castlebar u12 Girls 5 -06

The Kilmeena U12 Girls played their home game against Castlebar last evening, Monday 15th of June. As we were playing one the top teams in the division our girls needed a good start. ...
The Captain for this game was Megan Mulchrone, who was returning from injury. As expected, the girls executed their game plan. After winning the toss they started well by taking good early scores, they continued to dominate the visitors over the following three quarters.

However, in the fourth quarter, Castlebar managed to get two vital scores which loosened Kilmeena’s grip of the game and ultimately decided its final outcome. Overall it was a very entertaining display by both teams and Kilmeena can take a lot of heart for their effort. They are improving every time they take to the field.
Well done to all the Players & Management.

Next Game is away against Moy Davitts on Monday 22nd June @ 7.00.

Congratulations to the Kilmeena under 12 girls, who recorded their second win in Round 7 of the U-12 grading league last night in Breaffy. The final score line read 5-04 to 2-05 in favour of Kilmeena.

It was a great team effort by all 21 girls that produced this result. Breaffy started the stronger winning the first two quarters. However, the Kilmeena girls never gave up and played their best football in the third quarter scoring 3 goals and 2 points. Ciara Joyce put in a superb Captains performance, leading her team from start to finish. Mollie Keane helped tighten up the Kilmeena defence when introduced in the third quarter while Megan Mulchrone made a welcome return after being out injured for a number of weeks.
