The dates for the school winter league are as follows:
Sunday 23rd & 30th of October and Sunday 6th of November starting at 12:30pm at Kilmeena GAA pitch.
This league is for national school boys and girls aged 9-12 years.
A skills competition will also take place on the final Sunday, 6th November.
The league is to honour the memory of decesead members of familes involved in the Kilmeena club.
Please check the website later in the week for the list of Boys and Girls teams.
A Bord na nÓg meeting will take place in the club house on Tuesday 18th October at 9pm. All managers and members are requested to attend.
The Kilmeena GAA club annual Paddy Golden memorial blitz took place in St Brendan's Sports Park on Saturday 18 June.
A total of 25 teams comprising of over 300 boys and girls competed in the different sections of the blitz.
Again this year the weather looked kindly on us with all but the finals completed before the Atlantic mist rolled in. This did not take from the atmosphere and great day for the Kilmeena club and parish. It was wonderful to see so many excited children and their coaches cheered on by enthusiastic parents, grandparents and friends compete and display their footballing skills in a fun environment.
Winners on the day were -
Boys Section A: Castlebar Mitchells
Boys Section B: Kilmeena
Boys Section C: Westport
Girls Section: Burrishoole
Thanks to all those who gave so generously of their time in helping out in any way with the many jobs and behind the scene activities that go into making the day such a success. Without the help of club members events such as this would not run as smoothly as they do.
Thanks also to the Golden family for their continued support and representation at the blitz.

The annual Paddy Golden memorial blitz for u10 boys & girls takes place on Saturday 18th June.
A meeting will take place on Tuesday night @ 9:00 pm in the Clubhouse to finalise the blitz.
All managers/mentors are asked to attend or anyone willing to help out on the day of blitz please attend also.
