Kilmeena minors played Carras in a thrilling encounter at Ballyheane tonight Monday 16th of may. The Victor would go through to play Burrishoole next Thursday in the league semi final. There was great crowd gathering as the players came out on to the field. The game started with Kilmeena playing with the aid of a slight breeze. Within a minute Carras had the ball in the net and tagged on two points soon after. Worst followed when Center back Kevin Ryder got injured and had to retire. The boys really dug deep and got themselves back in the game scoring a few well worked points. By half time Kilmeena lead 0 - 09 to 1 - 04. All at the game knew the game was in the balance and the team that took the initiative in the second half would prevail.
The second half started as expected and was a tough dodged first 10 mins, both teams had chances. Carras got the game back to level and looked like they would drive for home. Just then our lads hit a purple patch and hit some excellent scores. This was just a wonderful all team effort with fantastic defending, superb midfield play and clever attacking play. The crowd that were there were treated to a wonderfully spirited display by our lads. Thank you for your support, the lads appreciate it.

Kilmeena travelled to Davitts looking to maintain their recent good form. The first few minutes saw a whirlwind from Kilmeena which Davitts found difficult to cope with. By the tenth minute Kilmeena had posted 1 - 4 to no reply. The first half continued with the same pattern...free flowing football from the Kilmeena lads and stout defence. At the short whistle Kilmeena were 13 points to the good.
The second half saw an easing off by the Kilmeena lads and Davitts coming a bit more into the game. However the men in black and white were well in control and eventually ran out easy winners at the final whistle.
Best for Kilmeena were Neil Duffy, Darragh Keavney, Shane Walsh and Alan Ryan.

Kilmeena U12 4 - 2
McHale Rovers 3 -4
Kilmeena u12 girls travelled to St Tiernans Park, Crossmolina to play McHale Rovers which is amalgamation of Ardagh,Crossmolina & Lahardane Ladies.
Both teams were evenly matched which lead to a very entertaining game with both teams giving it their all on a beautiful summers evening.
Kilmeena started this game well been first to the ball and taking good early scores of which settled them into the first two quarters, but in fairness to McHale Rovers they never gave up and they remained competitive to the end.
The Team captain for this game was Evie O'Flynn who lead by example making good runs with and excellent ball control, other notable performances by Aoife Gannon, Grace Gibbons, Emma Murray, Aibhe Carney, Hattie Cox, Aine Regan, Abby McGeal, Anna Moran & Grace McNally.
Well done to all the parents who helped out for this game, and the girls who were available for selection on the evening and also a special thanks to Christy Cawley for providing the transport and Martin Mcintyre for brilliant photographs.
