Kilmeena u12 Girls 1 – 4
Charlestown u12 Girls 7 - 5
The Kilmeena U12 Girls travelled to play Charlestown on Monday, 29th of June.
The Captain for this game was Evie Flynn, who put in a ‘’man of the match’’ performance in our last outing. After winning the toss Kilmeena needed a positive start to the game and began by creating good scores. The home team were threatening right throughout and managed to get a grip in the following quarters.
Overall it was a flat display by Kilmeena who were missing key players, but these girls showed a lot of heart this evening and the experience will stand to them in the future. Training will take place Wednesday evening @6.00 we would encourage all u12 to attend.
Well done to all the Players, Management & Parents who car pooled
Next Game is at home to Carnacon on Monday, July 6, please come out and support the u12 girls.
Match Report: Colm Barrett
Kilmeena U10s girls played Burrishoole in a friendly match on Wednesday 24th June at home in Kilmeena.
Our young ladies put on a great display of football, especially in the third quarter which they managed to maintain till the very end.
The game was keenly contested with some great scores taken by both teams.
It was a lovely evening with some glorious sunshine so this added to a good evenings football.
The under 10 girls will travel to Parke on Saturday, July 11 for an under 10 blitz. Best of luck to all the girls and their management team.
Match Report - U12 Girls
Kilmeena u12 Girls 7 – 05 Moy Davitts u12 Girls 9 - 02
The Kilmeena U12 Girls travelled to Foxford to play against Moy Davitts last eveningMonday the 22nd of June, as with the game the previous week the girls needed a positive start and they did not fail to disappoint.
The Captain for this game was Ciara Joyce, who was celebrating her birthday. Kilmeena took the game to the home team and started by creating and taking well earned scores. But as expected from this outing the home team were going to mount a challenge and close the gap, despite this the Kilmeena girls held their nerve and stuck to their task with good distribution of the ball and effective tackling.
As it’s often said ‘’Goals win matches’’ and in the fourth quarter the home side scored a wellexecuted goal which turned out to be the winning of the game. Overall you would have to admire our girls work rate throughout the game, and the spectators present enjoyed a display of good open football.
This Kilmeena team are making progress ever time they take to the field.
Well done to all the Players, Management & Parents, who car pooled.
